Solid Convictions

I think it’s an excellent time to consider your burning desire.

Is there something you have a solid conviction to work toward?

I have always been a Napoleon Hill fan, and as I get older, I appreciate his philosophy even more.

I ran across a video of his yesterday and heard him say you can achieve your “chief aim of life” if you are ready. Here is the video https://youtu.be/eQMRKct5N98.

If you haven’t read or heard “Think and Grow Rich,” I recommend it. Keep in mind it was written a long time ago. The message is still as relevant today as it was then.

I’ve read and listened to it many times over thirty years, and it encourages you to use your thoughts and thinking to achieve your goals. I get new information every time I read or listen to it.

All this came to mind as a podcast topic while watching a video by Casey Neistat, a YouTube star my boys follow https://youtu.be/4juSAp9jQjA.

I don’t usually follow his work, but it’s good. He is a self-made success. But not only success to the World, a success by his standards from all I can tell.

He moved to New York with a dream and made it happen!

Recently, he moved back from LA to New York. He and his family have lived in LA for a couple of years.

In LA, they had what seemed like a dream life. But, they grew homesick. A big beautiful home, close to family, and lots of time for surfing didn’t compete with the New York City life for them!

The point I get from the video is it doesn’t matter what looks good to the World. It matters what’s important to you!

It matters what feels good to you as an individual or family. What is worth working toward for you? What deep desire do you have, and what circumstances do you want to create for yourself and your family?

I believe it’s worth the time to think through that and work toward it.

It may not make sense to others. They may question you or discourage you. But, if you have a deep conviction and a desire to have or do or be something, and it causes no one else any pain, I say go for it!

All the genuinely successful individuals I know, have met, studied, or follow have been bold enough to not only dig deep to discover their dream but bold enough to shake off those that question them and push toward success as they define it.
