Earl is my guest this week on the podcast, and if you haven’t listened, he’s spilling the beans about his upcoming race, the #ChicagoMarathon.
He’s raced it one other time, way back in 2019. It kind of feels like that was a different world 😁 way back then.
But, even though he’s older (hello, brand new age bracket), he’s also trained harder, and he’s been gaining strength and momentum for the last three years.
Today he looked at his time from 3 years ago. He is evaluating what he still needs to do to get to where he wants to be.
He has a time in mind and will anxiously continue preparing, studying, and training for the big day.
At the time of recording, he has four weeks to wait!
He shares with us his plans and what he does to evaluate.
I’ll even get him to share his strengths as a runner and how sometimes those can also get in the way!
That’s why he has a coach (francesco.puppi on the vert. run app) and me, his “crew chief,” 😉 around.
If for nothing else, it’s to have accountability and a reminder to keep your eye on the prize!
