Remind yourself to elevate and prepare…
Have you ever dreamed of living in a vacation town? I certainly have.
Typically we go on vacations with clear calendars and soak up the laid-back vibes, and a week or so later return home and back to work.
My latest podcast guest, DeAnne Mitchell, gets the opportunity to not only live in Savannah, Georgia, but she also has two businesses there: Official Guides of Savannah and Convention Consultants.
The businesses there play a big part in helping visitors enjoy their vacations & business trips during their time in Savannah.
Both of her companies are in tourism, and you can see her heart for others and the community shining through.
You can catch my interview with her next week on my Sales Done Right series. She shares some incredible things about business. You will learn so much and be inspired as she shares how she has navigated the last two years and how she supports her teams.
DeAnne has two team members that have been in my community for over a year. They are a joy to work with and an example of the goal I have for my community.
I want the community to be a place to learn and grow. I hope to help my members have more fun and earn higher revenues.
DeAnne confirmed her team members had enjoyed the benefits as community members and shared why she encouraged her team to join the community:
- She wanted them to have someone there for them. To provide support for them. She saw it as someone else in their court.
- To provide extra guidance for them to reach company goals and personal goals.
- She had found benefits from being in (the leadership lab) the Bizchix coaching programs and wanted her team members to have the added benefit and encouragement of a coach.
When discussing the most significant benefits of coaching and community membership, she pointed to their sales growth in 2021.
The company had been preparing & planning for 2021, including some big goals. DeAnne knew she and her team would need extra support to meet those goals.
She was certainly on to something. The group grew sales in 2021 over 2019. That’s saying a lot for a business based in tourism.
It resulted from leadership, the anticipation of what was needed, and her team’s hard work.
DeAnne also added that it is always helpful for her team to have one-on-one coaching in the community because while I have experience, I also provide a unique perspective as I am not in their industry or city.
DeAnne is a delight. I know you will be as encouraged as I was after listening. She does many things right in business, including dreaming big for her and her teams. She prepares and makes the investments that allow her and her team to deliver.
Success is more than just having a goal. It is taking the next step and saying what I can adjust to reach these goals? Where do I need extra support? Where do I find the extra help?
DeAnne’s word of the year is “elevate,” and she is doing just that for herself and others. I know this conversation with her certainly encourages me to prepare and “elevate” my efforts this year.
