Are You Hiding Your Creativity?

How important do you feel it is to be creative, to have fun, and, yes, to play in business and life?

I’ll be honest, for a long time, I’ve tried to hide this side of myself, especially in business and with other people in life.

I couldn’t always hide it entirely, but I tried. I’ve always been a little quirky. I thought that was to be hidden.

I have been cautious in showing my creativity and imagination in life but also in a business providing serious things like office equipment to businesses, non-profits, and organizations.

I felt there was a danger in showing too much of my creativity and uniqueness to the world.

I have, of course, had many occasions to use my creativity when no one was looking and apply it to prospecting and problem-solving for my customers with programs and solutions.

Honestly, those times are my favorite times in business.

But, I chose to keep my thoughts mostly to myself and only present what I could package into what would look normal to others.

Then back in 2021 when I discovered Wendy Conklin from Chair Whimsy.  I was intrigued. I followed her with intention.

She seemed to be able to use her creativity in her life every day!

Wendy’s creativity not only brings her joy, but it brings lots of other people joy!

She successfully uses it in her business. Her creativity is her business! Without it, she wouldn’t have the same business she has today.

I recently read her new book. You can get it here https://chairwhimsy.com/book/.

I learned even more from her and found new inspiration to have fun, be creative, and play!  Get this even in a world where others might see my creativity!

I want to encourage you to think about how you are unique. Are you hiding it?

Do you have hidden potential waiting to be seen and waiting to bring both you and others joy?

I would love to hear your thoughts and experience with creativity, play, and fun.
